In connection with outbreak of the bird's flu the Russian customer-supervising department (Rospotrebnadzor) had strengthened control over the Russian border with Georgia and Azerbaijan, as the chief state health officer of Russia Gennady Onishchenko informed on the air of "Echo of Moscow".

Two boundary posts in Dagestan on the border with Azerbaijan caused anxiety of Russian epidemiologists in connection with that through them on January, 20th from the pilgrimage to Mecca 4 thousand 70 pilgrims-Russians should return.

The ground route of the believers passes through Turkish province Argi where cases of the bird's flu were registered.

As "Interfax" agency reported, Onishchenko also told: "in process of succession of the events in Turkey we shall either recommend them to change the route or to think over about other ways of taking them out of there if the situation has the further negative development".

Besides as he said, the Russian physicians also work in two other boundary posts on Russian border with Georgia - Verhniy Lars and Nizhniy Zaramag. "There our physicians have imperative to reveal patients with attributes of sharp respiratory diseases, to isolate them, to examine them", - the chief state health officer added.

Mentioning the situation on the border with Armenia, G.Onishchenko declared: "we organize adequate actions, and we shall try to send experts there give more objective information; depending on the situation we shall simplify or toughen our actions".

Thus he emphasized that "fortunately, in the territory of Russia we have no cases of disease of virus H5N1)".

On the eve Onishchenko recommended the Russian citizens to refrain from trips to Turkey where three persons had already died because of "the bird's flu".

He underlined that the Russian doctors of the Russian customer-supervising department (Rospotrebnadzor) closely watch the situation with disease of a man infected with "the bird's flu” in Turkey, including by means of the European bureau of the World health organization which spreads the official information on "the bird's flu".

On January, 7th Gennady Onishchenko signed the Instruction for the chief state health officers of the subjects of Russian Federation. In the document, as he said, he offered "to inform enforcement authorities of the subjects of Russian Federation, institutions of public health services of the subjects of Russian Federation, other interested organizations, first of all – those which carry out external transport communications and tourist business activities about the conditions of the epidemiological situation concerned "the bird's flu"; to strengthen control over passengers of vehicles".

In the Instruction it is also spoken about necessity to pay attention to territories, adjacent with the countries where cases of "the bird's flu" infection were registered or are registered, including the near abroad.
