King of Jordan Abdullah II on Sunday on April 16th met the leaders of Adygeyan and Chechen communities at the Circassian Charity Association to propose projects to help alleviate poverty and unemployment in their communities. The Jordan News Agency, Petra informed that.

Note: the Circassian Charity Association is the first charitable organization in Jordan. Their Royal Highnesses Prince Feisal, Princess Alia, Prince Asem Ben Nayef and Princess Sana Asem, Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit, Royal Court Chief Salem Turk and the King's Adviser for Tribal Affairs Sharif Fawaz Zaben Abdullah accompanied the Monarch during the visit.

Recently the king had met with representatives of the two communities at the Royal Court where he called on them to propose tangible projects to alleviate economic hardship in the country.

Among the suggested projects at yesterday's meeting was creation of a multipurpose hall at the Hamzah Ben Al Hussein Secondary School to be used for holding cultural, social, educational and sport activities. Another project entailed expansion of the kindergarten in the association's branch in Ruseifa. The project would create about 30 job opportunities, according to the association.

One more proposed project concerned creation of a centre for people with special needs at the association's branch in Sweileh. The project, which is expected to create 20 job opportunities, seeks to train people with special needs and integrate them into society. They also called for establishing a project to produce computer software targeting the youth.

King Abdullah gave instructions to the officials present during the visit to study the projects and implement the most feasible ones as soon as possible.

Also on Sunday, King Abdullah stressed his support for the projects of the Hashemite Fund for Badia Development plans to implement in the future, underlining the importance of linking the outcomes to citizens' needs. During a meeting with the chairman and members of the board of trustees of the fund, the King called for a study to be carried out on allocation of lands fit for planting to enable Badia residents to implement income-generating ventures under the fund's supervision.

The Monarch stressted hope that the fund's projects would be implemented within the coming months.

Note: Adygs (Circassians) and Chechens of Jordan compactly live in several rural settlements as well as in the suburban microdistricts of the kingdom’s capital - Amman. The Adygeyan community is represented by almost 35 thousand people, the Chechen one - nearby 5 thousand people.
