In stanitsa Dondukovskaya, Giaginsky area of Adygeya they registered a case of animals’ rabies. The experts believe that the reason was the excess of the norm population of foxes in the area in 5 times, “Caucasian unit" correspondent reported.

According to the chief veterinary of republic Nadezhda Sayapina, now in the stanitsa they have the free-of-charge vaccination of the home animals – cats and dogs. The mentioned case of infection had taken place several days ago - as a result of a fox’s attack a dog and home hens. The tests were confirmed by the Krasnodar veterinary laboratory.

The bitten dog was killed, the corpses, the hen-hoop and the dog box were burnt, and the territory was chlorined. The infected by the virus foxes lost any fear, and inhabitants of the settlement see them each day. The hunters are called now to help; so they had begun shooting, Nadezhda Sayapina also told.

In their turn the hunters suppose that the shooting would be useful for the foxes’ population, too. The imprudence is demonstrated, first of all, by the infected foxes. The more they will be shot dead, the more chances healthy animals will have to avoid infecting.

Let's note, it was the third case of revealing of the rabies in Adygeya. The first two of them had been registered in Takhtamukaysky area of the republic.
