Creative competition under the name "My aul", declared in the beginning of this year, became the first joint project of the newspaper "Shapsugia" and the information Internet-portal "Adygi", which owner and the founder is our fellow countryman, nowadays citizen of Maykop Kazbek Kodzheshau.

By the plan of the competition organizers (whose idea republican newspapers "Adyghe Psal’a" (KBR), "Adyghe Mak" and "Soviet Adygeya ", as well as "Circassian congress" of Adygeya and Karachaevo-Circassia had supported), it should not only promote process of preservation of the annals of the past of our settlements, generalization and systematization of materials on study of local lore but also to keep for future generations the history of people written by contemporaries.

We are grateful to everyone who has replied our appeal and has taken part in the competition - readers of the newspaper "Shapsugia" could get acquainted with these works. After the careful studying of all the given materials the organizers had summed up their creative works.

The first place has been unanimously given to the inhabitant of village Baksanenok of the Kabardino-Balkarian republic Lyudmila Zagashtokova - the author of the book about the native aul – as her work completely corresponded to the purposes and conditions of the competition.

The second place was won by the elder of settlement Nizhny Terek (KBR) Nazir Hazilov who had given for the competition a plenty of materials about his native aul, fellow-villagers and many generations of representatives of his kin.

The third place was after the young inhabitant of aul Mafehabl of Adygeya Republic, repatriate from Kosovo, student of the Maykop state technological university Bekir Tsey who told in Adygeyan language about the modern life of "the Happy aul" and the difficult way home of his ancestors.

The inhabitant of the Israeli settlement Bath-Jama, Circassian by origin Umar Laypanov was awarded with the special prize "For activity and firm civic position". His article "Thinking of the present and the future" ("Shapsugia" # 13 from July, 16th) found many responses of the readers and was unanimously recognized as worthy high estimation and prize in that nomination.

One of "My aul" competition winners – Bekir Tsey - has already received his prize. His awarding took place in Maykop in the edition of the republican newspaper "Adyghe Mak", which published on its pages our compatriot’s article, too. The other prizes will find the addressees in the nearest future.
